The Louis Vuitton City Guides collection has already passed through nearly 100 cities across the world and calls on the talents of more than one hundred independent journalists and writers, who provide an attentive, informed commentary on the changes shaking the heart of cities, offering objective views on fashion, design, the arts and gastronomy.

These brand new City Guides, released on October 15th, touch down in totally unprecedented cities. Berlin, Kyoto and Nara are also being offered for the first time in an individual volume alongside London, Los Angeles, Paris, Rome, New York and Tokyo. Meanwhile, the indispensable European City box set is adding seven new destinations to its map: Beirut, Courchevel, Gstaad, Oxford, Palma, Poto Cervo and Thessaloniki. Equipped with easy-to-use maps, the guide unlocks each city’s best treasures for both seasoned travelers and curious insiders.

The Louis Vuitton City Guide Berlin is available in French, English, and German, and explores this multifaceted German capital through more than 500 discerning addresses. Guesthouses steeped in nostalgia, little-known vegetarian restaurants, restored brasseries, quirky designers, cutting-edge fashion, hip night spots, revamped museums, and art galleries in constant flux paint the portrait of a fascinating city.

The entirely updated Louis Vuitton City Guide Paris reveals the French capital down to the finest detail. 600 address, each one selected with a fresh and discerning eye, impart restaurants with virtuoso young chefs alongside neighborhood cafes; luxury hotels and charming guesthouses; fashion maestros and design trailblazers; distinguished galleries and secret museums.

The sixth edition of the Louis Vuitton City Guide New York explores every facet of this effervescent metropolis. The selection of some 600 addresses has been thoroughly updated to include grand hotels, stylish bars, world-class restaurants, glamourous nightclubs, fashion and design stores, innovative art galleries and more. In other words, it’s a new edition that dives straight into New York’s vibrantly beating heart, highlighting the city’s extraordinary vitality.

He lives in New York with his wife, fashion designer Isabel Toledo. His work has been exhibited throughout the world, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and London’s Victoria and Albert Museum. “My aim is to paint a portrait of a city and to draw out its special and eternal essence; to capture the unique tempo and character of each.” – Ruben Toledo

Louis Vuitton is well known for their beautifully crafted trunks and luggage collections. There’s no doubt that this fashion power house has a soft spot for travel. In fact, since 1998 LV has been publishing their very own sets of city guides. Of course it goes without saying that the guides will point you in the direction of luxury!

The LV City Guides are loaded with the addresses to the best hotels, restaurants, local markets, boutiques, hot new designers, galleries, little-known monuments and all the tucked away hot spots in some of the world’s top destinations. Cities include Tokyo, Paris, London, Los Angeles, Miami, as well as less touristy spots like Basel, Deauville, Knokke-le-Zoute, Mykonos, Malaga and Tel-Aviv among the 40 destinations currently offered.

Design and packaging of these chic guides was inspired by the Louis Vuitton vintage luggage label found on their holiday trunks. The guides are dark brown to reflect LV’s signature style with pops of bright colours like Pistachio Green, Rosewood and Magenta. Inside you’ll not only find the best address book for your selected city, but also easy to read maps and helpful illustrations. Best of all the guides are the perfect size to be thrown into your bag or your back pocket making them easy to tote around town.

The 2011 European Edition Box Set will be released on October 15th and will feature seven new cities including Oxford and Porto Cervo. You can get your hands on past editions individual cities (like my home-town Miami) for approximately $35USD or the 2010 European Cities Box Set for $130USD online or in select stores.

Monocle x LV
—Tokyo City Guide

Most of you should know by now that we are fans of Tyler Brulé’s Monocle magazine. The November issue has just been released and once again it is on point. From stories on the new Ace Hotel New York to choosing food spots in Toyko with APC’s Jean Touitou, there is a lot of good stuff in the new issue.

The highlight though, its the Monocle x Louis Vuitton Tokyo City guide. Celebrating the launch of the official Louis Vuitton Tokyo City Guide, Monocel got together with Louis Vuitton Japan and created a poster edition of the guide. Not only does it give you the latest hotspot hotels and restaurants, you also get a piece of artwork by Leiji Matsumoto.

Louis Vuitton is famous all around the world, and women are crazy about his shoes and bags!
Near some hotels in Recoleta, he has a store. I think it's in Alvear Ave.
