Regarded as ‘the iPhone in chocolate world’, Chocolate Company’s key product is ‘Hotchocspoon’ — instant hot chocolate on a spoon, one simply stirs it in a mug of hot milk for a lush, comforting cup of hot chocolate and a spoon to spare. Made with 100% Valrhona chocolate, there are over fifty flavours of Hotchocspoon available — including grown up varieties such as Dark Chocolate with Cognac by Grand Manier and White Chocolate with Navan Vanilla by Grand Manier; girlie flavours such as Dark Chocolate Brownie and Dark Chocolate Cookie Matcha Tea; there are also ‘kids only’ choices such as Dark Chocolate with Smarties and Milk Chocolate Cappuccino Orange. Adorably packaged with minimal aesthetic, it is something one loves to love.

Founded in The Netherlands, Chocolate Company is set up by Mirjam Schroeder and her chef husband Toussaint Claessens in Aachen (near the border between Germany and The Netherlands). The couple started working on the concept of Hotchocspoon in 2004, imagining it to be ‘the world’s best hot chocolate on a spoon’. After the necessarily tests for product development, it became the current version (weighing 50 grams each) with shorter and shorter names. Chocolate Company products also include ‘Giant Chocbar’, ‘Chocospread’ for bread and biscuit, ‘Hotchocdip’ sauce and more. There is diversity in this chocolate department, for sure.
