FANTASTIC MAN Issue #11, for the Spring/Summer of 2010.

The long-awaited new issue of FANTASTIC MAN, the gentleman’s style journal, has just been published, and has much to commend itself. On the cover is the artist Mr. WOLFGANG TILLMANS, on the eve of a major exhibition this summer at the SERPENTINE GALLERY in London. Also featured is Mr. ALEXIS TAYLOR of HOT CHIP, the legendary specimen of masculinity Mr. FABIO LANZONI, and the celebrated journalist Mr. BOB COLACELLO. These extensive profiles sit alongside an array of fashion proposals for the vacations, as well as FANTASTIC MAN’sFantastic Man)

The latest issue of Fantastic Man has landed, starring photographer Wolfgang Tillmans on the cover, some nice use of Gill Sans (below)…

…some of the richest, flattest black printing I’ve seen for sometime (above)…

…and two archetypal Fantastic Man fashion shoots, both firmly with tongue in cheek. First, above, Andreas Larsson’s ‘Stylistic suggestions for bold summer fashions worn to be worn by gentlemen of quite marvellous shape’, ie large men, brings light relief from the more extreme fashion moments in the magazine.

Best of all, though, is Benjamin Alexander Huseby’s shoot from a Spanish naturist beach, featuring a model wandering among the elderly, naked clientele. Great stuff.
