Owl City - Maybe I'm Dreaming (2008)

So a lot of my friends have been telling me how good this group is but I have never listened to them until now. I thought they were amazing!!
Here's a download of their first album released last year. I will get their new single up soon.

Owl City - Ocean Eyes (2009)

"The stars lean down to kiss you/And I lie awake and miss you," murmurs Minnesota MySpace sensation Adam Young on "Vanilla Twilight," a typically dreamy track from his major-label debut. Throughout Ocean Eyes, Young sets his breathy croon over gentle laptop beats and goes on about romance, the joy of spying fireflies and how he gets nervous going to the dentist. Often, Young sounds like a cuter version of the Postal Service. Love songs like "On the Wing" — a ballad with a plush, twinkling electro beat where the singer lies awake dreaming of his beloved — are serious mush, like an amorous e-mail you'll regret in the morning.

All about
Owl City

Owl City is an synthpop project of Adam Young. Formed early 2007 in Owatonna, Minnesota, Owl City has reached the “Top Unsigned Artist” position on Myspace, having over 10 million total plays. Owl City has released the EP “Of June” in 2007; the album “Maybe I’m Dreaming” 2008; and in 2009, the album “Ocean Eyes” was released. Young maintains two side projects, Swimming With Dolphins, and Port Blue.

-Two side projects-

Port Blue - The Airship (2007)

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patienty for Him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.

Swimming With Dolphins - Ambient Blue (2008)

Every once in a while, a band comes along that's so charming, they'll have your face stuck in a grin so wide your face will hurt. This seems to be the case with Minnesota's Swimming With Dolphins. With their latest release, Ambient Blue, it looks like they will be sneaking their way into mainstream music and into the hearts of girls across the nation.

From the Facebook page:

“If your household appliances wrote love songs while you were away on vacation, their cheerful blips and bleeps would pour out the windows, sweep through the neighborhood like candy-coated tidal waves, and you would return home to find crowds of people standing on your lawn, clapping and singing along to the happiest pop melodies imaginable. Welcome to Owl City.”

If you consider yourself a fan of The Postal Service, I’m quite certain you’ll enjoy the efforts of Adam Young, also known as Owl City. The Owatonna, Minnesota-based multi-instrumentalist started making music in his parent’s basement, a result of his insomnia. Young built a big following on the strength of his live show and via MySpace, and was recently signed by Universal Music.

Owl City is straightforward synth-emo-rock, but Young does craft some interesting songs. His second album, Ocean Eyes, is out later this summer.

IT'S A MUSICAL
MASTERPIECE!
