British bag maker Bill Amberg has been noted here for his colorful simple canvas bags, and has now been enlisted by Monocle for a nice little set of luggage. The Barge tote bag comes in a nice mustard yellow or a lightning blue. With the lovely leather accents and simple shape, it’s definitely a good option. My favorite part of the collaboration is the small canvas edition that comes with a set of patches and a stencil for you to personalize your bag. I was just talking about using a patch pack last week, so while I was a bit gutted to see it come out before ours, it works nicely with this easy to use bag set by Bill Amberg. Besides the bags, it’s always interesting to see Monocle’s product shots. With such simple layouts and basic lighting, they still shoot their bags in film for the magazine and website.

Back on track with more appropriate collaborations, Monocle presents a project with British designer Bill Amberg. Together the two worked on two different nautical style canvas bags. Available in Hot Mustard or Lightning Blue, the canvas and leather bags come with a set of patches (including the Monocle emblem) and a stencil so you can personalise the bag with your initials.
