Inspiration
-Casual Sport

"Never let them see you sweat."
- from a Dry Idea deodorant commercial broadcast in 1985

Stylistically speaking, in most sport you fall victim to the uniform that is already set in place. A kit that has evolved over time with a high polyester content that somehow lets your skin breathe and wicks away moisture. Nowadays in sport, cotton is pretty much obsolete and replaced by the likes of Nike Dri-FIT, Adidas ClimaCool, and Under Armour.

The technology has been amazing when it comes to performance. But I have this romantic notion of actually looking good while playing sports. I love the idea of being able to wear what you workout in to dinner or the cinema as well. This vintage shot of Dean playing table tennis is really inspiring. It's effortless, chic, and full of class. I'd like to think Dean would have rest his paddle in one of these waxed cotton Jack Spade covers after he was done if they were around back then.
