The team are in London this week enjoying a well-deserved break after a hectic production week. It's also World Press Freedom Day, and Salim Amin is on the line from Nairobi to talk about A24 Media, a new project that's helping promote press freedom across Africa. Dialling in from Budapest is Monocle correspondent Adam LeBor, who assesses the ability of the country's new leadership to tackle the economic and social crisis in Mitteleuropa. There is also a special report from the Invest Iraq conference, which took place in London this week, and Sophie Arie, Monocle's foreign editor, and Rachel Morarjee, international economy editor at the Financial Times, are in the studio to discuss the potentials and pitfalls of investing in the region. All this, and the usual culture and comment from culture editor Rob Bound, editor Andrew Tuck and host Tyler Brûlé.

Monocle Shop, Palma
Monocle has subtly announced their third retail location soon to open. The hopeful date is set for June 1 on the sunny Mediterranean sea in the city of Palma. On a recent trip to Spain, Mr. Brule seems to have stumbled upon a great location that suited the brand’s vision and can provide the locale with something unique, as usual. It’s uncertain if the retail location is permanent or a summer get away, but we can hope to see some special color ways in current products such as the swim trunks by Orlebar. Either Way, it’ another exciting extension of the strong media brand that is Monocle. Spain is a beautiful country worth visiting, and definitely the hot weather choice in Europe. Hopefully I’ll have to chance to check out this new location as well and report back. For more information, have a listen to this weeks edition of The Monocle Weekly.
